Over the Garden Wall is now TEN YEARS OLD (it’s actually 11) and I sit down with Jay to talk about the 2014 Cartoon Network Mini-series by Patrick McHale. We discuss the inspirations, the themes, the original ideas and pilot content for this wonderful and well remembered special from the high end days of television animation. Toon in now!
416. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc
Chainsaw Man is finally back after 3 years of being off the air but it’s back in MOVIE form. The Reze Arc is a highly anticipated storyline about Denji vs The Bomb Devil! Everyone cares about Chainsaw’s heart. But no one cares about Denji’s. Let’s dive into this tortured love story with Ricky Vang from the Spoiler Force Podcast, this week AD.
415. To Be Hero X
To Be Hero X, a Chinese Anime, may very well be the show of the YEAR for 2025. This amazing take on modern superheroes takes you into a bunch of different forms of animation, story telling, mystery and insane action. To Be Hero X has really hit all the right spots for me and some of the best character arc stories the medium has to offer.
414. Predator: Killer of Killers
Predator is getting some franchise treatment as of late and as part of that this past summer we got Predator: Killer of Killers on Hulu! A semi-anthology series that links together into a very decisive direction that could revive the franchise in a brand new way bringing the future and the past of the franchise together in some stunning animation. Toon in now!
413. ParaNorman
It’s Halloween! And we have a new classic re-release by studio LAIKA with ParaNorman. I went to check it out along with the brand new short cartoon “The Thrifting” an exclusive CG animated sequel short staring the titular characters of the 2012 movie.
412. Animation Coming Soon! (2025)
This week we have a clip of TOON NEWS from a future episode. Here we cover all the stuff that is coming in the near future in late 2025 and early 2026 that has been announced from NYCC and other media blitz events where animation is top of the list! Toon in now!
411. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
The brand new Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie has been breaking box offices and we get to talk about this week on Animation Destination. Despite some pacing issues this one is a real winner and I’ll be interested to see it brought out in an episodic form next year.
410. Trigun (1998)
It’s an ANIME CLASSIC this week on AD Podcast with 1998’s Cowboy Sci-fi epic Trigun! Vash the Stampede the $$60,000,000,000,000 Man, the humanoid typhoon might be one of my all time favorite characters in anime and we get to talk about him on this episode of the podcast.
409. Dragon Ball: Piccolo Jr. Saga
We just talked about the best of the best from the original run of King of the Hill so now it’s time to talk about the return, and what a great return it was. A great retread of old characters and addition new ones that have the same charm of the original show. A truly successful relaunch. Let’s toon in now!
